William Wuerdemann Residences, 10-12 B Street, NE (87)
10-12 B Street, NEConstructed 1889, demolished ca. 1910
In 1887 Cluss and Schulze designed a house a 8 B Street for the German immigrant William Wuerdemann. Wuerdemann lived around the corner at 204 Delaware Avenue, and he or members of his family owned other houses on Delaware Avenue.
Cluss may not have had time to work on this project. In June 1889, he accepted a new position at the Treasury Department as an inspector of public buildings, a job which ended his private architectural career.
