Lansburgh's Department Store building (77)

417 8th Street NW
Constructed in 1885, demolished

Cluss and Schulze designed a two-story, brick building for Lansburgh's one block behind the firm's 7th Street department store (see No. 9). The new building served perhaps as a warehouse or shipping or receiving department. It was connected by an alley to the store on 7th Street. Lansburgh's also enlarged their department store the same year by renting the building financed by John L. Vogt (see No. 10), also designed by Cluss and Schulze.
